A simple Ciabatta or pizza dough

June 26, 2017

One personal tip, add spices to the bowl with all ingredients before you knead the dough!

My preferred spices are, basil, chili, fresh chopped chive, …

Ingredients

  • 500 Grams
    Spelt flour
  • 300 Millilitres
    Water
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Salt
  • 5 Grams
    Active dry yeast
  • 3-6 Tablespoons
    Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Use lukewarm water to dissolve the yeast, when dissolved add one tablespoon salt to it and stir until the salt dissolves.

Take a large bowl and add all the flour to it, sprinkle the olive oil over it and add the dissolved yeast to it.

Work the dough until it is still sticky but beginning to show evidence of being velvety, supple, springy, and moist.

If it's too fluid, add a little bit flour to it.
If it's too hard (better not ;) ) add some water, but only if really needed and very little!!!

Now leave the dough for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, so the yeast does its magic.

    You're done! ;)

Form the dough according to your desired sizes and place it on the baking tray prepared with a baking sheet.

Preheat your oven for about 230 degrees Celsius.

Form the dough into a medium sized ball, roll it out on a clean table sprinkled with flour until the dough is flat and round enough for your pizza.

Place it on the baking tray prepared with a baking sheet, and put whatever ingredients you like onto it! ;)
